ohhh, this too too solid flesh...

this is me last summer...
i'm posting it because i need the motivation...to stop eating crap! i know i'll never be a waif, but this smaller curvy size suits me better than where my body is and naturally likes to hover.. got some working out to gets on...do so miss my private yoga classes, (cue bougie worlds smallest violin)
is it silly to still wanna look your best, even tho ones over the age America deems valuable, which is like 25 or so.... i don't think so...the french woman wear life well... and for me i guess, as an actor the body is the instrument...
and along my journey there's plenty of jobs my ass has legitimately been too big for the ideal...blame lies some where between my own self sabotage & oprah style eating, as much as Hollywoods desire for women to have bodies of teen boy... but i guess we should leave that topic for another time, don't you think? x RT ps that's what real boobs look like LA dudes...

You already know that you look great in this picture. And I understand that, as an actress, your body is your instrument & the camera adds 10 lbs. (at least). Because of your profession, you have greater demands on your appearance. Aside from that, I agree that age and body type expectations in the US are out of touch with reality. Women and men generally feel better when they take care of themselves to remain in good health. Beyond that, every body type can be beautiful. Some of the sexiest, most beautiful women I've met don't fit anywhere close to what mass media would suggest looks good. Yet, they are completely and truly themselves - which is not just sexy, it's electric.

P.S. I don't have a google acct, yet. I found this blog bcz I am a fellow twitterer.

  9. Rachel,

You look great! I can only wish I could look that good! I don't even wanna know what size you wear! Oh, and cute swimsuit, by the way! :)

But no, it's not silly to want to look good; It's healthy to want that body, mind, spirit unity!

I read somewhere on Twitter today that "Exercise is king. Nutrion is queen. Put them together and you have a kingdom." Now isn't that a great quote! If only I would listen. lol :)

  12. I don't get you. One minute you're crying loudly about people sending you penis pictures and married men hitting hard on you and people making sexual advances at you. HOWEVER, here you are now, flaunting photos of your semi-naked body, talking about your breasts, looking for sexual attention, knowing that there will be so many crass, explicit comments. Are you an undercover freak. This soooo hypocritical. Were you phony then, or are you phony now? Just wondering?

  17. there's more provocative images on tv ads... again the point (especially for women) is how we feel about our bodies, as we grow mentally and age...yet still remain ourselves.... and NOOOOO, my stomach is not that flat now, why i needed to tangibly see what my mind and body can do, when i commit...to working out... blah.

  18. Come on Ms. True:

is this some kind of "validation" thing? You know you look good. Do you think you'd find debate here among "the choir" and Rachel admirers (of which I count myself among).

(And abusive personatlities like Edwin don't count.)

Your line about Self sabotage was right. Also Hollywood, media and magazines aren't to blame for any girls "self image". If "we" didn't want to see rail thin with two basketballs on the chest, then "they" wouldn't give it to us.

Most of the consumers in this country are overweight, yet overwieght women watch the TV shows, movies or buy the magazines with the "Ken and Barbie" looking folks. The so called "victims" are spending their time watching Gossip Girl, S&TC, buying Cosmo, Black Actress or whatever. The girls are the ones to blame if they didn't buy it, it wouldn't exist.

And in your case, you really can't complain. Even the harshest of critics, Ms. Holly Wood, is saying "You Good, Rachel." Not only do you get movie and TV roles, Half and Half cast you as a 20 something, when you were a couple of years older than that. Before that, you were constantly cast as a teenager when you were in your late 20s.

If you fine and you know it clap your hands (Rachel: "clap clap")

    Peace

Like a friend of mine says: "I do me and you do you". Of course, that's easy for us to say. You, on the other hand, have a different situation. Your job requires you to be what other people desire. Obviously, each desire depends on the role. However, that desire doesn't always seem realistic to the average audience. I always wonder about that. If I can offer anything, it would be for you to be comfortable with yourself. If you want to sculpt your body, then do it. Regardless, do what feels right for you. No matter what others say, you must feel right for you.

I wish you the best in what YOU want. If any of the real Rachel True makes it through into your roles....all I can say is....WOW! You have a fascinating soul.

    Peace.

  27. Hey Rachel,

I always used to run into your work through movies and television (loved you in Half & Half) and I must say I've always admired your original style and natural beauty. You look great and alive as a person. Keep up the positivity, good work, and remain true to yourself. Dont let that industry you work in skew your vision on life. :-)
